1. Who we are

Tattoo Pain Scale is a free, browser-based tattoo pain chart and set of reference guides. The Site is operated by the Tattoo Pain Scale team (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

2. Use of the Site

The chart and content on this Site are provided for informational and educational purposes only. You are free to use them for personal, non-commercial planning.

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, copy, or republish the Site’s chart, code, or content without permission
  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable laws
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Site’s operation

3. Accuracy of the pain scores

The scores on this Site are editorial estimates for comparing placements. They are not drawn from a published survey or clinical measurement, and they cannot predict what a tattoo will feel like to you.

Your experience can change with the design, the artist’s technique, the length of the sitting, and how you feel that day. Use your judgment and talk to your artist about the actual design and placement.

We are not responsible for how a tattoo feels, heals, or turns out.

4. Not medical advice

The information on this Site is for general education only. It is not medical advice, it is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional, and it must not be used to diagnose, treat or manage any health condition.

Getting tattooed breaks the skin and carries real risks — infection, allergic reaction, scarring, and complications that are more serious for some people than others. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a skin condition, a bleeding disorder, diabetes, a compromised immune system, or take medication that affects bleeding or healing, speak to your doctor before getting tattooed. Always use a licensed, reputable artist who follows proper hygiene, and follow their aftercare instructions.

Some free PDFs ask for your name and email before the file downloads immediately in your browser. Requesting a PDF does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

We store the download request with Supabase, our service provider. We do not sell your name or email address. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Intellectual property

All original content on this Site — including the pain chart, its scores, written guides, and design — is owned by Tattoo Pain Scale or its contributors. You may not reproduce or distribute this content commercially without written permission.

8. Third-party services

The Site uses third-party services including analytics providers and hosting infrastructure. These services have their own terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
